Is Peyton Manning the best player in the NFL? Tony Dungy seems to think so…tonight on Sunday Night Football he declared the Colts to be the best team out there. You do have to give a nod to their record. Thanks to www.nfl.com for this story.
Colts QB Manning breaks 40,000-yard barrier in a decade
Peyton Manning is the first NFL quarterback to pass for 40,000 yards in any decade.
He did it on a 5-yard completion to Pierre Garcon during the first quarter of the Indianapolis Colts’ 20-17 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday.Manning also tied Fran Tarkenton for fourth place on the league’s career wins list for quarterbacks with 125. Manning still needs three touchdown passes to become the first player in league history to throw 300 in a decade.
Among his accomplishments this season, Manning became the fastest quarterback to 4,000 completions and passed Tarkenton for third place on the league’s career touchdowns list.

As soon as the Cards are out of Freedom Hall, we’ll be hanging banners in “Rupp West”. It’s about time there were banners there.
Our fabulous freshmen are something to behold. John Wall is a baby Jordan. He seems to float.
Leaving for the game in a bit. Hubby is feeling under the weather, so I’ll be cheering them on solo.
Go Cats…

Yeah !! Basketball season is here. Last hurrah for Cardinals in Freedom Hall. But one year away from opening of new arena.
May I suggest a name for the arena?? How ’bout BOOMER-VILLE ARENA !

Not sure what’s going to happen with the football cats this season. Hope they make it to another bowl, and not the rice krispies bowl either…but I sure will be happy to see the run and gun basketball cats. We’re not going to sell all of our tickets this year…woohoo…nothing better than a Sawyer’s burger and a cold one, then a b-ball game.

July 30th, 2009 at 11:09 am
Well it’s damned sure they’re not gonna sell dog food!
July 29th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
It’ll be hard to sell commercial time on whatever channel Vick plays on, don’t ya think?
July 26th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Oh yeah, he’ll play again. He’s a money maker for some team.
When I think of how those dogs suffered. There’s a special place in hell for people who abuse animals.
July 25th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Change of subject: So who thinks Michael Vick should ever play ball again? Do you think they’ll let him back in the NFL? Has he paid his debt to society and therefore should get back to where he left off? Is the concept of athletes being good examples an outdated idea?
July 25th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
Meantime…whatsisface is sueing for those millions he didn’t earn.
Boy I long for the old days…Kentucky boys playing Kentucky ball.
Give me a kid who practiced his free throws at a goal nailed up on the side of the tobacco barn.
July 25th, 2009 at 12:18 pm
Wait til the NCAA gets ahold of KenYUCKy’s dirty laundry with Wild-World Wes out recruiting for Califarry. Ole Cowadairy will ride off in the sunset and Kenyucky will be left with major recruiting violations…
You guys will have NCAA invstigators so far up your wazoo, you’ll be able to taste the Brylcream!
July 23rd, 2009 at 10:40 pm
CaliFERRY???? Oh, come on…that guy’s hot. Besides, the Lousy-ville Cardinal bird coach will be spending all of his time IN court, instead of ON the court. Maybe that’s why they hired a second coach–ha!
July 23rd, 2009 at 1:31 pm
Hey, Tyrone! Bleed Cardinal red do you? Califerry…that’s a good one.
You may be right though. Maybe he is trying to lower expectations. But, I think maybe he also just doesn’t “get it”. Once he goes through that week before the big game, and walks into that arena (where do they play this year anyway?) and hears the crowd…he’ll know the score.
July 23rd, 2009 at 9:17 am
Calipari is simply trying to lower expectations… just like in the old days with Von Baron Adolph Rupp and Joe Bizman Hall… two cowards who either dodged Louisville OR once forced to play them– acted like it was nothing.
Of course, real fans know horse crap when they see it and Califerry should know better. Peace to all you kentucky fans.
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Sooooooooooooooo…I hear on the Francine show this morning that Calipari went to Pikeville and told them Louisville isn’t on his radar. Said Kentucky has bigger fish to fry and that we all oughta just get over the UK/UL rivalry nonsense.
uh oh
Wonder how he ever got out of Pike County alive.
July 22nd, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Football season right aroud the corner…
July 13th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Oh…that deal with the Titans quarterback. Just weird. What a shame and a waste.
July 13th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Ring Magazine…sneaking transistor radios into class…those were the days.
July 11th, 2009 at 1:35 pm
I’m ready for football, too! Got stopped on the way in to a farmer’s market today…the nice guy directing traffic said I had to park across the street because I had a UK Alumni license plate on my car. I told him my kid graduated from U of L, and that I therefore bleed purple. He couldn’t stop laughing and let me park. What a hoot!
Okay, so who is the college football team to beat this year? and will Notre Dame be worthy of the amount of TV coverage they will no doubt get? C’mon, their fight song just isn’t that good.
But hey, why can’t the Titans get a break? There will be a cloud over this season. I’m going to at least one pro game…Cinci, Tennessee, or hey maybe Indy…after all, they’re inside where it’s warm.
July 10th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
OK…enough with the lazy hazy crazy daze of summer.
I’M READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!
Isn’t there a pre-season game on somewhere?
June 27th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Hey john!
When UK and UL play this year, they’re going to have to play the theme from the Godfather when the coaches come out on the floor.
June 26th, 2009 at 10:17 am
GO CARDS !!
June 24th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
GO BIG BLUE!
